Georgian Films at the Melbourne International Film Festival - 01 08 2018

Australia will host the Melbourne International Film Festival from August 2 to August 19, where Georgian films will be presented.

On August 7 and 12, "Scary Mother” directed by Ana Urushadze – the film that has been awarded various international prizes will be screened within the frames of the Film Festival and on August 9 and 17, "Prisoner of Society” – a short film directed by Rati Tsiteladze will be screened within the frames of the same Film Festival. It should be noted, that the film "Prisoner of Society” is among the nominees for the European Film Academy. The awards ceremony of the 31st European Film Awards will be held on December 15, 2018, in the town of Seville, Spain.

The Melbourne International Film Festival just like the Cannas International Film Festival and the Berlin International Film Festival is one of the oldest film festivals in the world. It has been held annually since 1952.
