Just like last year, Georgian cinema falls under spotlight at the Sarajevo International Film Festival this year.
The film "Horizon” directed by Tinatin Kajrishvili will participate in the main competition section of the Sarajevo International Film Festival. The world premier screening of the film was held at the Berlin International Film Festival, several month ago.
"Before Father Gets Back" – a film directed by Mariam Gulbani - has been selected to participate in the Documentary Competition programme of the Film Festival; and "Apollo Djavakheti” – a film directed by Bakar Cherkezishvili – will participate in the Sarajevo Film Festival Student Film Competition.
In addition, the Sarajevo International Film Festival will host the programme for young talents - Talents Sarajevo. Ani Kashia will participate in the above mentioned programme.
It should be noted, that last year’s edition of the Sarajevo International Film Festival proved to be very successful for the Georgian filmmakers participating in the Film Festival. The Grand Prix of the Film Festival was awarded to Ana Urushadze for her film "Scary Mother”. "City of the Sun” directed by Rati Oneli was named as the best documentary at the same Film Festival. Ana Urushadze will be a member of the jury for the feature film competition at this year edition of the Sarajevo International Film Festival.
Bosnia and Herzegovina hosts the Sarajevo International Film Festival annually and the Film Festival is among the most prestigious film festivals in the region. This year the Film Festival will be held from August 10th to 17th.
