Georgia at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival - 04 06 2018

The Annecy International Animated Film Festival – one of the most important animated film festivals in the world – was held in the town of Annecy, France from June 11th to 16th.
Mamuka Tkeshelashvili's motion puppet film "Fisherman and Girl" was screened within the competition programme of the Film Festival. The premiere screening of animated film "Tea” by another Georgian animator – Petre Tomadze was held at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. An exhibition of sketches for "The Pocket Man” by Ana Chubinidze – which has been recognized as one of the most successful animated films recently - was organized in the cinema hall "Cinema Les Nemours”.

It should be noted that this year the Programme "Film In Georgia” present an exhibit stand of Georgia at the Film Market organized within the frames of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. Georgian animators and producers were given the opportunity to meet their foreign counterparts and discuss important issues with them. Georgian animated film festivals "Nikozi” and "Topuzi” were presented at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. This is the fourth time this year Mariam Kandelaki a representative of the International Animation Film Festival "Nikozi” has been invited to attend the meeting of world programmes held within the frames of the Film Festival.
