Georgian actor Irakli Kvirikadze received European Shooting Stars Award at the Berlin International Film Festival.
The Awards Ceremony was held on February 19, at the Berlinale Palast.
Irakli Kvirikadze was among the ten most talented Shooting Stars nominated by the European Film Promotion.
Young Georgian actor Irakli Kvirikadze won the nomination with the support of the Georgian National Film Centre for playing the lead role in the film "Hostages” directed by Rezo Gigineishvili. After being named among the Shooting Stars of 2018, he received the award along with other actors at the Berlin International Film Festival.
Irakli Kvirikadze, together with the nine most talented up-and-coming actors from all over Europe, will have the opportunity to attend some workshops, meet experts, directors, producers and casting directors during four days (February 16-19).
Another representative of Georgian film industry, who has been awarded at the ongoing Berlinale Film Festival, is Alexandre Koberidze.
Filmmaker Alexandre Koberidze became a winner of the latest German Film Critics Association Prize for his feature film "Let the Summer Never Come Again”.
The Georgian National Film Centre would like to congratulate Irakli Kvirikadze and Alexandre Koberidze on winning these important awards.
