GREAT VICTORY OF THE GEORGIAN CINEMA- ANA URUSHADZE WAS AWARDED FOR HER BEST DEBUT AT THE LOCARNO FILM FESTIVAL - 12 08 2017

Anna Urushadze was awarded Best Debut at the 70th Locarno Film Festival for her film "Scary Mother”. The world premiere of the film was successfully held several days ago at the competition section Concorso Cineasti del presente of the Locarno Film Festival and was followed by positive reviews in the world press. The winners will be awarded at the solemn ceremony of the Film Festival.

The first feature-length film by Ana Urushadze was made with the support of the Georgian National Film Centre. The film is a co-production between Georgia and Estonia. Georgian producers of the film are film studios "Artizm” and "Gemini” and Estonian producer of the film is Studio "Allfilms”. Georgian actress Nato Murvanidze plays the main character in the film.

The Locarno Film Festival is well known worldwide as a festival of discovery, as throughout its history the festival has discovered new trends and launched the careers of numerous directors and actors.
